What activities make Plantar Fasciitis worse ?

Walks on the beach are not your friend.

The following activities make plantar fasciitis worse: flat shoes, bare feet, pushing heavy weights uphill (eg shopping trolleys up ramps or mowing up a slope), standing in one position for long periods and walking on the sand.  We frequently see people who have developed plantar fasciitis after a long beach walk or tried to use beach walking as a kind of self-prescribed therapy for their existing pain. Unfortunately, it has the opposite effect.
